NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

Beautiful Minds Psychosocial Recovery Coaching is a funded worker that has mental health knowledge. A recovery coach will:

  • Spend time with you, and the people that are important to you, to get to know you and understand your needs.
  • Help you to find out about different services and different supports and how these supports can help you.
  • Help you get support from mental health services.
  • Help you better understand the NDIS and support you with the NDIS.

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

Coach will support the participant to make a recovery plan to work towards their goals and build their capacity. Recovery Coaches have 4 goals:

  • Promote recovery.
  • Remove barriers.
  • Connect people with recovery support services.
  • Encourage hope, optimism, and healthy living.

Beautiful Minds Specialist Behaviour Support

Specialist Behaviour Support falls under Improved Relations funding in a participants NDIS funding with-

  • Specialist Behaviour Intervention Funding
  • Behaviour Management and Training Funding

This funding is to support people with complex and high-risk behaviors of potential harm or concern and also to investigate and manage and restrictive practices that may be in place for the person. If a participant does not have Improved Relationship funding Improved Daily Living Funding can be used for some behavioural assessments and reports.

Beautiful Minds Trauma and Behavioural Counselling

Trauma and Behavioural Counselling is for both private clients and NDIS participants to support ongoing therapeutic intervention, outcomes and capacity building towards coping with trauma experiences and behavioral escalations and concerns for people across the lifespan.

This service embraces a person-centered approach to support the person to work through the impact of trauma or traumatic events that a person has experienced in their life. Purposeful talk therapy to build coping skills and support the person to understand and process their experiences.

Behavioural Counselling aims to understand the person's behavior of harm or concern and develop skills and strategies to find alternate positive behaviours for the person to engage in. Behavioural Counselling also works to understand the function that underlies the persons behaviours of harm and concern.

NDIS Functional Capacity Assessment

The Functional Capacity Assessment is an assessment for NDIS participants of all ages to understand how well the person is able to function in their everyday life in their home and their community as well as how their disability impacts them. The Functional Capacity Assessment covers different domains such as mobility, fatigue, communication, learning, cognition, personal care, activities of daily living, social skills and social interactions, behavioral challenges, group and community activities and employment. The Functional Capacity Assessment will also assess the NDIS participants support requirements and what different support needs the person may have across both mainstream and NDIS funded supports. The Functional Capacity Assessment is a vital tool for the NDIS to understand the support needs and requirements of each NDIS participant and to ensure that the participant has a current assessment evidencing their disability support needs.

NDIS Support Coordination & Specialist Support Coordination Beautiful Minds Support Coordination helps you make to best use of your supports that are funding within your NDIS plan. Support Coordination is a capacity building support which supports you to:

Understand and use your NDIS plan to work towards and achieve your NDIS goals

Connect you with NDIS providers within your community that can best support you and assist you to achieve your goals Build your capacity, confidence and skills to coordinate your own supports. Specialist Support Coordination is a higher level of Support Coordination that is required for more complex participants with specialist support needs. A Specialist Support Coordinator works to manage complex and challenging situations and complex stakeholder teams to ensure continuity of care for the participant and to manage the complex needs of the participant. These situations may include complex hospital discharge to the community of a high care participant.
