NDIS Functional Capacity Assessment

The Functional Capacity Assessment is an assessment for NDIS participants of all ages to understand how well the person is able to function in their everyday life in their home and their community as well as how their disability impacts them. The Functional Capacity Assessment covers different domains such as mobility, fatigue, communication, learning, cognition, personal care, activities of daily living, social skills and social interactions, behavioral challenges, group and community activities and employment. The Functional Capacity Assessment will also assess the NDIS participants’ support requirements and what different support needs the person may have across both mainstream and NDIS funded supports. The Functional Capacity Assessment is a vital tool for the NDIS to understand the support needs and requirements of each NDIS participant and to ensure that the participant has a current assessment evidencing their disability support needs.
